Hari Raya is just around the corner, and I believe all Malaysian are looking forward to the celebration. The festival will be fall on 1st & 2nd Oct 2008 (Wednesday and Thursday) and it could be a long break if applying for leave together with the weekend

Last year, Malaysia has organized the first Malaysia International Fireworks Competition with a great success. There are estimately 400,000 live audiences in Putrajaya for each of the competition night. The participants for last year’s event are Malaysia, Japan, Italy and Australia. Australia was honored the first place with its display themed ‘Aurora Australia’.
In 2008, for the second time Malaysia is going to organize the International Fireworks Competition. This year’s participants are Malaysia – the host itself, China, Canada and Spain to compete for the second ‘Golden Merdeka Trophy’. Last year winner Australian team, represented by Howards and Sons Pyrotechnics Pvt Ltd is going to produce the grand finale display. The competition will be held from 12 August to 29 August in the same venue as last year which is in Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).
However, there will not be any tickets sold for this year. In other words, the event is totally free for all. Moreover, speakers will be installed at the public viewing locations enabling the spectators to enjoy the ‘Musical Firework Displays’. If you wish to have a better view in PICC, good news to you as the entrance to PICC is free as well. Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2007 Putrajaya International Convention Centre will be the venue for the 1st Malaysia International Fireworks Competition.
The magnificent view across the lake overlooked by the grand Seri Gemilang bridge will be the main focus for two weeks. From 18 August 2007 till 2 September 2007, Nations from Australia, Japan, Italy and Malaysia will be competing for the Merdeka trophy.
Floral Parade was held in Putrajaya on 27 January 2007. After the parade, all the floral decorated cars were displayed in an exhibition hall opposite the Palace of Justice, Putrajaya. Visitors can enter to the exhibition hall for a closer look with only RM2 entrance fee for adult and RM1 for children.
