Malaysia is the first Southeast Asia country to be awarded as a host country for Xterra Triathlon Race. The two days events will be held at Teluk Cempedak Kuantan on 6 & 7 June 2009.
The race which consists of 1.5km swim, 30km mountain bike ride and 10km trail run expected about 500 contestants from around the world. Cash prizes up to RM100,000 waiting to be won.

Malaysian actress Datuk Michelle Yeoh’s fiance – Jean Todt will be appointed as the Ambassador of Tourism by Malaysia Government. Jean Todt, the former Ferrari F1 team manager is expected to contribute in promoting Malaysia Tourism especially the Malaysia My Second Home programme.
Minister of Tourism – Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen will present the certificate to Todt in Paris, France. When the minister was asked on the reason Todt was being chosen, she said Malaysia Government believed Todt’s wide connection could be a great help in promoting Malaysia Torusim.

Readers of The New York Times have chosen Penang as the second must visit destination among “44 Places To Go in 2009”. The first ranked destination was Beirut of Lebanon.
Penang, the Malaysia Food Heaven offers variety of South East Asia food at hotel, restaurant and hawker stall. Penang food is believed to be the major factor which contribute to the readers’ choice.

Malaysia Government has accepted AirAsia’s proposal to build a brand new budget airport. The new LCCT will be located at Labu, Negeri Sembilan. The new terminal, to be called “KLIA East @ Labu”, will be built on a 2,800 hectare site (6,919 acres) in the central state of Negri Sembilan under a private finance initiative, costing 1.6 billion ringgit. The terminal project development will be handled by Sime Darby and expected to be completed in two years.
