Year 2009 was not a good year for tourism industry globally. However, according to Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen, the number of visitors to Malaysia from January to 15 November 2009 has reached 21.5 millions. In other words, there is a 7.6% increment compared to year 2008.
Malaysia has been expecting 19 millions of tourists in year 2009. We have not only accomplished the goal but also exceeded by 2.5 millions of visitors despite the economy crisis.

The Monsoon Cup 2005 celebrated its inauguration and debut as the 50th official event of the Swedish Match Tour (http://www.swedishmatchtour.com/), and serves as the Malaysian leg for the prestigious international sailing event. Dubbed ‘The Formula One of Sailing’, this professional sailing series was formed in 2000 to unite the world’s best match-race regattas under one banner.
The World Match Racing Tour comprises ten events in ten specially selected locations around the world. As the leading professional sailing series in the world, the Tour events are recognized as must-attend regattas on the match-race circuit. The Monsoon Cup for the 2009 offered the second highest prize money in the world (RM1 million) for a match racing event.
The Monsoon Cup 2009 was held at Pulau Duyong, Terengganu, from the 9th November 2009 to 6th December 2009 start with Asian Qualifier and then Malaysian Qualifier.
The Monsoon Cup is the tenth and final event on the World Match Racing Tour 2009. Twelve of the best match racing teams met on the waters off Terengganu in Malaysia from 1 to 6 December 2009 to contest the event. Once again the battle for the championship trophy will see the top sailing teams in the world pitting their skills against each other in the last leg of the tour.

Nikolay Davydenko from Russia has defeated Fernando Verdasco from Spain at here yesterday to win the 1st Malaysian Open Kuala Lumpur tournament. The winner won the final in straight sets with a 6-4, 7-5 results. After winning the Malaysia Open Kuala Lumpur final, Nikolay Davydenko holds a 6-1 head-to-head record over the tournament second seeded Fernando Verdasco.

Malaysian tennis fans, good news! The biggest Malaysia tennis event this year is coming. Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur 2009 – an official ATP World Tour 250 tournament and one of only five in Continental Asia will be held from 26 September 2009 to 4 October 2009.
The star players who participate in the tournament including Fernando Verdasco, Fernando Gonzalez, Nikolay Davydenko, Robin Soderling, Gael Monfils, David Ferrer, Tomas Berdych and Lleyton Hewitt.
The nine days event will be held at Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The ticket price varies from RM11 to RM198. However, the entrance for first two days Single Qualifying is free of charge.

While attending the 57 anniversary of The Selangor and Federal Territory Restaurant Keepers’ Association, Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen said government will held a Malaysia Cuisine Festival by end of year 2009. Tourists from all over the world are given opportunity to taste our local cuisine during the event. Besides, the event also expects the participation of chefs from foreign countries.
