Kek Lok Si Temple, the Monastery on Crane Hill, is also a very famous tourist spot in Penang. This temple is situated in the Ayer Itam town and everyday there are many worshippers and visitors who come to visit and worship the god and goddess. During the Chinese New Year celebration, the entire Kek Lok Si temple will be strung with lots of colorful lanterns and lights. At night, when all the lights lit up, it is a beautiful sight to be seen. Located some distance above the Kek Lok Si Temple there is a dam, the Ayer Itam Dam. One can enjoy the scenic view or jogging along the scenic dam.
