Batu Caves is one of the famous tourist attractions in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The cave consists of three main caves with a few smaller one. The main and biggest cave among the three is the Temple Cave. Temple Cave has a very tall ceiling which height is about 100 meters tall. Having the name of Temple Cave, it is also a place visited by many devotees. It contains several shrines and the Sir Sri Subramania Swamy Temple. During the occasion of Thaipusam – Hindu Festival, many devotees will visit to this place to pray. In order to reach to the Temple Cave, visitors have to climb 272 steps of stairs.

The other cave which is below the Temple Cave is the Dark Cave. This cave is 2000 meters long which is also not a show cave. It has magnificent rock formations and a number of animals can be found in this cave. The Art Gallery Cave is located at the foot of the steps. It has statues and wall paintings showing the scenes from the Hindu deities and mythology.

Besides as a tourist spot, Batu Caves is a very suitable place for rock climbing activities too. The cave itself provides more than 160 climbing routes. Rock climbers can experience the different kind of challenge with different routes that scattered all around the side Batu Caves.
